| Description |
Habitat: Dry rocky slopes, open woods, canyon bottoms. Plant: Shrub 2 to 6 ft. tall; slender multiple branches, bark grayish-whitish, peeling. Leaves: Dark green; hairy above, silvery below deeply pinnately-lobed, 3 to 7 narrow lobes 1/4 to 1/2-inch long. Inflorescence: Saucer-shaped flowers with 5 large white petals up to 1 inch long; five smaller sepals; many yellowish stamens and pistils. Bloom Period: April to October.
