North Pacific Passage to Japan

Ocean Cruise from Vancouver to Tokyo via Alaska

Inside Passage

The next morning, September 16,  we were sailing calmly through the the Inside Passage. This is the sea between the mainland of British Columbia and Vancouver Island to the west. The calm seas lasted until we cleared the Passage and were in open water on our way to Ketchikian. That evening we had a preview of the rougher sea conditions that we were to have later when we were crossing the North Pacific.
