One of the many surprises found in the Big Bend area is the huge number of plant species. A fraction of them are shown here with each trip yielding some blooms I hadn’t found before. As of May, 2025, there are over 200 identified species and variants here.
These photos were taken in Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, and parts of Brewster County outside the parks, including the Black Gap Wildlife Management Area.
