| Description | Habitat: Dry slopes, hillsides, flats and along arroyos, from 2,500 to 5,500 ft. Plant: Spreading perennial 4 to 16 inches tall, branching from base. Leaves: Gray-green, highly variable shape from simple lanceolate to oblong to once or twice ternately-lobed; 3/8 to 2 inches long; lower leaves opposite; upper leaves alternate. Inflorescence: One or a few composite flower heads at the ends of long stems, each 1-1/4 inch across with 10 to 13 yellow rays and numerous yellow disk florets. Bloom Period: April to October.
