Pont du Gard

Not from from Arles, the Pont du Gard is a portion of an ancient Roman aqueduct that crosses the Gardon River.  It is the highest of all elevated Roman aqueducts, and, along with the Aqueduct of Segovia, the best preserved.  It is part of the Nimes aqueduct, a 31-mile system built in the first century AD to carry water to Nimes.
