Bidania-Goiatz and Loyola

Gipuzkoa Province
Basque Country

At the end of the Alliance Schlumberger Reunion, we rented a car and headed east toward San Sebastian to a small town in the countryside called Bidania-Goiatz. We stayed at the Iriarte Juaregia hotel, a very pleasant place with a wonderful Michelin restaurant.

In the neighborhood is the town of Azpeitia, which has the beautiful baroque-style Sanctuary of Loyola. This is the birthplace of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus.
